How thoughtful and romantic is this guy?!?! He calls and tells me that he wants to propose to his girlfriend. In order to get it photographed without tipping her off, we play it off as if the session is simply to get pictures with his kids and them together. Hee hee. So we spend the first 45 mintues of the shoot taking some regular family and kiddo shots. Then, at the end, a picture of just the two of them. That was our secret clue that he was going to pop the question. It was honestly one of the very best sessions EVER. I was crying, too. Check it out this little slide show. How fun are they!?!?

A friend/client had me do some pics of her adorable children. (And when I say adorable, seriously. This is adorable in live kiddo form.) Anyway, the baby had just been christened, and mama needed some thank you cards. Yes, she *is* that organized.
This is what we came up with. Is he stinkin' adorable or what?!?! So, if you're interested in cards for yourself, there are a multitude of sizes, styles and finishes available. Even if you don't think you'll be ordering some, you should ask during your session to see the samples I have here in the studio. They are amazing.
The holidays are a CRAZY busy time for photographers. Now that the new year is in full swing, things are returning to normal for me. And normal for me, is getting to meet sweet couples like this one. They will be getting married later this year, and I have the privilege of capturing it! We started out with an engagement session last week. It was great -- even with the snow! Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy! These three cuties came to the studio a couple of weeks ago. I LOVE how these came out! We were trying to match a picture of the youngest to similar photos taken at the same age of his older siblings. I think we got it! The older two kids were so enthusiastic and eager to help. They loved using my toys to make little brother smile. So sweet.
Their mother is pretty on top of things. Three kids, and said she wanted to use a shot from the session for a Christmas card photo. In August. She is my hero. I am a photographer and I still can't manage to get a shot of my kids before Thanksgiving. Can you believe that!?!? I can't believe this year's senior class is the class of 2013! It's like we're supposed to be the Jetsons or something. (Wait... I think I just totally dated myself...) Anyway, as busy as I have been, I am realizing that I love my work more and more. Each session I learn something new, and it just fuels my creative spirit to shoot more and more. This session is Matt. He (and his mom and sister) were such fun to work with. I actually took pictures at his sister's (and my old) sorority's bid day celebrations the past few years. His happy-go-lucky nature and attitude made the session go by too quickly. Much like a senior year! I'm just glad I was able to capture who he is in this moment of his life. This fall is picking up and I'm already booking into fall. I have just a few weekend spots available yet before November. It's just crazy. So if you're wanting a fall session, I suggest booking it sooner rather than later! So, how much can you adore a couple? They were so great to work with, and I had a WONDERFUL time at their wedding. Did I mention it was at the Durham Museum and BEAUTIFUL?!?! Here are a few photos, and if you want to be swept away like I was, please watch the video at the end. Thanks, Ali and Nick, for... I guess, just being awesome. I LOVE living in Dundee. It really is the people that make this place great. And for the second year now, Sara Rogers Photography has participated in the Dundee Days Parade. It is just so much fun! I love it because I went to school in a small town, and it just reminds me of that sense of community. Yet I'm still close to the school and grocery store. :)
Here are a few of my favorite pics, but you can see all of them here or on my Facebook page. I'm so happy to announce there is a new website for Sara Rogers Photography! I love the new clean and fresh look, and the new system I'm using will be so much easier to maintain. Woot woot! It's only been two years in the making!
