"Oh, gosh! It's picture day. I'll just make a cute banner real quick while I get my three daughters ready for pictures. And my own make-up done. No biggie," said Super-Mom. Seriously, she showed up to the session with this adorable pennant banner. And make-up on. (People who know me, know that it is a rare occasion if I have my hair AND make-up done on the same day. I am simply in awe of her.) Not only can she do all that, she's nice, too! Like, really, really nice. You can't help but like her. I'm surprised the pennants didn't combine into some kind of cape. Anyway, she had seen something similar to this banner on Pinterest, and whipped it up quick the morning of the session. It totally made the photos. How cute are these ladies!?!? I feel so lucky to have watched this family grow! I started out meeting the couple when they were engaged and I shot their wedding. Then their first daughter. And now... TWINS! They are a great couple and a great family. But I don't know if they're ready for the family to grow again just yet. :) This little guy not only was perfectly adorable, but had such personality! He (and his mom and dad) came to see me for his one year old pictures. As we played and took photos, mom and dad continued to mention the things he liked. So, I thought we needed to somehow include all those sweet memories. And, viola! This cute little photo art was born! A friend/client had me do some pics of her adorable children. (And when I say adorable, seriously. This is adorable in live kiddo form.) Anyway, the baby had just been christened, and mama needed some thank you cards. Yes, she *is* that organized.
This is what we came up with. Is he stinkin' adorable or what?!?! So, if you're interested in cards for yourself, there are a multitude of sizes, styles and finishes available. Even if you don't think you'll be ordering some, you should ask during your session to see the samples I have here in the studio. They are amazing. These three cuties came to the studio a couple of weeks ago. I LOVE how these came out! We were trying to match a picture of the youngest to similar photos taken at the same age of his older siblings. I think we got it! The older two kids were so enthusiastic and eager to help. They loved using my toys to make little brother smile. So sweet.
Their mother is pretty on top of things. Three kids, and said she wanted to use a shot from the session for a Christmas card photo. In August. She is my hero. I am a photographer and I still can't manage to get a shot of my kids before Thanksgiving. Can you believe that!?!? I can't believe this year's senior class is the class of 2013! It's like we're supposed to be the Jetsons or something. (Wait... I think I just totally dated myself...) Anyway, as busy as I have been, I am realizing that I love my work more and more. Each session I learn something new, and it just fuels my creative spirit to shoot more and more. This session is Matt. He (and his mom and sister) were such fun to work with. I actually took pictures at his sister's (and my old) sorority's bid day celebrations the past few years. His happy-go-lucky nature and attitude made the session go by too quickly. Much like a senior year! I'm just glad I was able to capture who he is in this moment of his life. This fall is picking up and I'm already booking into fall. I have just a few weekend spots available yet before November. It's just crazy. So if you're wanting a fall session, I suggest booking it sooner rather than later! |
